For the new website design, there are requests for a dark theme. The new website CSS is being designed with theming in mind.

A "Dark Theme" should be an alternative theme and not the default.

I found settings that work well with Dark Reader for the desktop.
This may work on mobile also. There is a setting called Filter+ and this works in conjunction with adjusting the contrast setting. See screenshots.
