Got this web app assessment or
Android application assessment and I have a tool called jambree
Um, that I use for most of my Android stuff. Cool worker was having problems. Maybe it was region locked or whatever
With his account, so I'm trying to get his stuff set up
So I offer to I guess help at the last minute
And I realized it's an app I had already done and I could never get the SSL pinning to work. So
Free history and when we started with Android it was bad like you could man in the middle of everything
You know the traffic you could see all the traffic there's no route detection and there's no a daddy bugging
You could just go in and open up burpsweet and do whatever
Then they added like certificate pinning or things like that
Basically they
Started stacking on security layers now if you want to try to look at an app
There's about 15 different security layers of hell. You have to go through to get it now
When I was originally doing my testing
I could never get the actual meat and potatoes back in production API to that work
To see that traffic right um, but after
Getting access to the cure or any
Leading AI thing I had it run through
And patch this footer app now the first time I tried to patch it it didn't work. I don't know why
If I'd have been just like I got lucky because I reset things in the right order and I did the certificates right way or whatever
But I'm pretty sure the way I did it last time
It's basically the same exact way and I just maybe did got unlucky in the process of how I do this so
Generally speaking you start out with my normal video on jamboree of how to get root and all that stuff
And then there's a few other things you can kind of turn on that may or may not make much of a difference
You can do things like freeze the google apps
That might help kind of lessen the traffic
But then you're gonna get a ton of errors if you actually installed the google abk
With my setup here

But it is an option for you to freeze and that's part of the
It's a console based abk's button and my setup
So usually first thing I do both I've got root. I'll turn off google play protect for whatever reason. I just

Which is a decompiler for android abk's and put about things
It asked me to go through and do these things
It's easier on a said to you have a command language and it's like oh there's a bat file

It failed out or whatever and I gave it to air message and it said it was missing some libraries or whatever and then it just said oh

And so instead of I think he gives the
G-jorded dump the original image
Um, which is a decpiler by that's basically free that everybody can use
Um, which is pretty awesome
I'm not make good at it, but it the AI walked me through
Doing that and
After some my human and hon
I actually had to re
Not only did I have to run the modded abk I had to
run
The base I have a base button is called free to anti-root
So this is self-depending button and that just applies in normal

Once I was able to see that traffic going to the client

Through this flutter has its own HTTP thing and it was a full SSL server and it doesn't listen to anything
It doesn't listen to what the system starts
For Android it doesn't listen to client inserts it doesn't listen to um

The settings and the wifi so if you put the settings and the wifi to say use you know this
This proxy that is your per suite so what you do back up when you're doing
Testing with Android
You have to proxy your traffic through something
Usually that's per suite you've got things like kind of the weekend popular
C.I.D.O
But usually it's gonna be per suite and that's what builds into my tool and it's a whole process to get the certificate on there and everything and that
My thing doesn't like three minutes from nothing to you know a full-bombly Android testing suite
And like two four minutes so I've been doing this
You know kind of creating this app for six years or so
So anyways you have a rooted
Full-Mur Android and I managed to get it to walk me through and I
Modded the APK using
Either just straight up Python after the debugger with
G-Joy was run
So G-Joy was just like an offline debugger. I think you can probably connect to an Android bridge while you're like
Really doing like real time debugging it's probably possible, but I'm not really that
Into it right now mom would be nice
Well, if I could get the AI to help me with some of these like you know encrypted payloads or SSL pinning so SSL pinning

You go to website you get that thing, you know, this is a secure site you get the little block rate
Well, that's a lot of flies in the Android ecosystem also
What we've added is like millions of layers of
Obstraction from that whole process. So if you
Install your own client cert you could get man in the middle then they said okay only system certs can see certain things
So then people put system certs on the on the devices by rooting them and then they had like anti root
So that's like okay your your phones rooted so you can't do anything and then
This is okay fine. We're gonna do anti root root anti anti root
So now when you run a thing you have an anti root thing that like detects like magics and
There's other things that just look up like root
Google wallet and you'll find the nightmare that is trying to get
Like Google wallet to work on your phone
Um, do you do not want to run any of these software packages um they're not open source
They are just weird binaries like where certificates that come from I don't know where
So I would not run any of this these APKs you get off of thing unless it's on my list and even that APK button on my list is
Probably not the best thing to be doing with a personal account. So all my accounts are tested counts
I don't use any personal
Accounts for any of my Android testing so it doesn't really matter what I do
But if you do this on your own personal phone
You do not want to be like put an APK's on there and then it like ask it for root
So anyways, I've installed I have the one
have a reasonable finding of
You can request the
Location of another user by their user ID now problem with that is that if I can ADB debug or
Get traffic on your local network or pull the track up traffic from your phone
I can get your ID and if I can get your ID and I can tell where you are so if you're using this app
And maybe I manage to socialize near you or get you to plug in something or go to a website
Or I think even actually if you share your
You're yourself to someone like a link
I think it might be hidden in there too, but I'm not gonna test that so anyways
So now unfortunately I have two of these I'm running. I have the main one which has got all SSL
Shannians and it's all working and everybody's happy

I don't know if that's actually accurate right now. Yeah, there was an error taking a bad ability of vehicles
So I think it's it's broken again. It seems to only work for a minute and then like some cookie times out
So I have to rerun the yeah, we can't receive details at this time. It's like some kind of caching issue or something
So what I usually do with apps if I'm testing him a if they don't work I checked the ADB debug
And it'll say stuff like blah blah blah check failed or like some kind of service check failed or something
Basically that's man in the mid preventing man in the middle stuff. So right now I've actually killed the app
I don't want to reset the setting because I already have the app logged in
So I've killed the app and
To explain what this app is it's like a location sharing app and
Other than that is
Not really important to know what it is
It's a location sharing app for like

For like family services it possibly
That helps
I don't even know what they're trying to do but that's one of the things that it does you you can share your location
You can say hey, you know, I'm I'm at a Costco
You know, I'll take you to track your kids you can use it

There's billions of other things out there. It doesn't matter better like custodia or whatever
If you want to track your kids this app is I don't know what it's trying to be so anyways
So now I have it. I've killed the task. I'm going to relaunch the task with my original

of a db log cat now a db log cat is probably shooting you have different version
Like a error version so you can say all the way from warning and up or only critical enough
That helps with the size because this this file is basically a trace file. It is there's so much information in these files
Like things like location data and things like that
If you can plug in the phone you can get all tons of interesting information
So what I found is the user on this where ID is in the thing and it is also the user for it's
UNC web path through the actual API
Which is kind of interesting because you can't see anything to the prod API without
decrypting the flutter thing, but if you use this a db
Log cat which you can get on your actual phone you can run a db log cat on your phone and just export the results and then
Shipping to AI it's a hey, was this is anything weird running on my phone. I have troubleshoot and debug
All kinds of issues with a db bug a db debug or a db log cat that I was not able to troubleshoot within the other software or any other
scripts or mainly looking at stuff
Because this thing is just like a dumpster fire of nightmares so anyways

But because the client doesn't need that or an or doesn't want to like worry about
They're like oh well, we're just going to drop the you know credit card number or sensitive field and just take the whatever field
Well, you know that happens a lot where
You put an API request back and you get like a whole bunch of extra information you didn't really need or want
Kind of least privileged issue anyways take it easy got to go later
