Hello and welcome to a new episode of Hacker Public Radio.

I'm still in the middle of a field with a dog recording this on my phone.
|
|
So if it's here lots of wind noises and pops and apologies but there we go.
|
|
It's the first of March and yesterday.
|
|
It's the first of March and yesterday my original plan was to go to a Cambridge Raspberry Jam.
|
|
But they saw that at tickets.
|
|
So we did our next best thing which was we decided we went to the Centre for Public Computing.
|
|
Also in Cambridge.
|
|
Great day.
|
|
Super fun time.
|
|
It was great seeing all computers I had as a kid.
|
|
Playing the games that I used to play.
|
|
And trying to work out why I could not get to the past level one of the neighborhoods.
|
|
I used to do that every time.
|
|
That was a kid.
|
|
I tried to code on a BBC micro.
|
|
And realizing that the keyboard layer is changed.
|
|
It's shift keys in the wrong place.
|
|
It's one figure that's what was there.
|
|
It was a lot of problems in the space about prominent women in computing.
|
|
And I think that was great.
|
|
It's great to read and learn about these pioneers.
|
|
Historically computing has some figure of an image problem.
|
|
It is seen by many as a boy's club.
|
|
And I really want people to challenge that notion.
|
|
There is nothing in parenting computing that sort of says this is just for girls or this is just for boys.
|
|
It's just a thing and you can get into it or not.
|
|
It's with that in mind that I'm going to plug and the event that's happening.
|
|
He will run here in various events.
|
|
