  Local Transcription can now check for updates automatically and notify you when a new version is available.

  New Features

  • Automatic Update Checking - The app checks for new releases on startup (after a short delay to not slow down launch)
  • Update Dialog - When a new version is available, you'll see a dialog showing:
    • Current vs. new version number
    • Release notes for the new version
    • Option to download or dismiss
  • Skip Version - Don't want a particular update? Check "Skip version X.X.X" to stop being reminded about it
  • Manual Check - Use the "Check for Updates Now" button in Settings to check anytime
  • Configurable - Disable automatic checking in Settings if you prefer to check manually

  How It Works

  When you click "Download Update", your browser opens to the release page where you can download the new version. This approach
  handles large files (2.5GB+) better than in-app downloads.

  Update checks respect a 24-hour interval to avoid unnecessary network requests.

  Notes

  • Existing users: Your current settings are preserved. Auto-check is enabled by default.
  • The update checker connects to repo.anhonesthost.net to check for new releases.
